You deserve first-class dental care

Building trust comes first. Every patient gets kindness, respect, and attention to detail, whether that means a handwritten welcome card, a personal follow-up call after treatment, or a dentist who sits down and listens before anyone picks up an instrument.

Our focus is simple: exceptional dentistry in a welcoming, stress-free environment. We provide most of your care in-house and work with trusted local specialists when a case needs one, so you always know who is responsible for your treatment.

What sets us apart?

Comfort

Both dentists hold minimal sedation certification, so oral sedation is available for longer visits or for anyone who dreads the chair. Tell us what makes you nervous and we’ll adjust the pace.

Convenience

Request your visit online, complete your paperwork before you arrive, and pay your bill from your phone. We also offer same-day appointments for dental emergencies.

Personalized approach

Every smile is different. We take the time to understand your concerns and build a treatment plan that fits your health history, your schedule, and your budget.

Comprehensive care

Cleanings, fillings, crowns, whitening, clear aligners, extractions, root canals, and implant restorations all happen in one Grand Island office. When a case calls for a specialist, we coordinate the referral and the follow-up.

Meet our doctors

Get to know Dr. Jacobs

Dr. Timothy Jacobs graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a B.S. in biology and psychology. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry and opened his private practice in Grand Island in 1987.

He holds minimal sedation certification, served as a clinical instructor at the UNMC College of Dentistry, and received the 2012 Dentist of the Year award from Third City Community Clinic.

Outside of the office

I like music and play the saxophone in the Hamilton County Band in the summer. I also play the piano and organ.

I help with the general operation of the family farm near Phillips. The farm was first owned by my great-grandfather in 1876. Today, corn and soybeans are raised.

In the summer, I like to go to a lake near South Bend, Nebraska, for swimming and boating.

Why did you want to become a dentist?

I grew up on a farm near Aurora. I am a first-generation dentist. I always enjoyed going to the dentist as a child. I had regular cleanings and even a few fillings with dentists who really cared about me. Looking back, I appreciate that my mom knew it was important to get routine care for our family. I like problem-solving and science, so I chose dentistry when I discovered that I had a talent with my hands for intricate-detailed work, plus guidance from parents and mentors that made a great impact on my life.

Get to know Dr. Rush

Dr. Cody Rush joined Jacobs Dental Group in August 2021. He graduated from Grand Island Northwest in 2012 and ran track at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he won a Big Ten Championship in 2014, earned Academic All-Big Ten honors 3 years in a row, and made the All-America First Team 4 years in a row. He is also a 3-time recipient of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Award.

Cody and his wife, Emily, married in college and have two children. He’s excited to be back in Grand Island to serve and give back to the community that has supported him throughout the years.
